Manchester’s very own Modulate are playing the Academy 3 on Saturday 30^th July and we are very pleased to announce that the next Sin City will be the Official Modulate Aftershow Party.

The blurb:
They are the Robots… Official Modulate aftershow party. £1 off entry with ticket stub. Featuring Modulate DJ set along with the usual DJs Quiff Boy and (Dead) Matty playing the very best in Goth, Industrial, Synthpop, Punk, EBM and alternative 80s.

Good news! We’re back…

Sin City returns to The Retro Bar. Dates booked in so far are:

- Saturday 30th April 2011
- Saturday May 28th 2011
- Saturday June 25th 2011
- Saturday July 30th 2011

DJs Quiff Boy & (Dead) Matty playing all the best goth, punk, new wave, alternative, EBM and industrial tunes for your listening delectation and edification.

In the meantime we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has already come forward and offered support, help etc, and to all our old punters who kept believing (and nagging!)

The last update where we discussed a one-off Sin City for mid-2009 was starting to look ridiculous, so I thought I’d better replace it with something a little more relevant. And, sadly, a little more final.

Obviously the night is no more, and hasn’t been since December 2008, but this website still gets an appreciable amount of traffic, so I’ve left it up for people to see. The old playlists seem to be particularly popular!

There are also a few Sin-related sites still knocking about, for example:

Sin one-off for mid 2009?

Just thought you all might like to know that there is currently some talk within Sin H.Q. about doing a one-off Sin City sometime over summer.

It’s still very early days yet, so nothing firm, but we’ve had some interest and wondered if it was worth doing.

It is with a sad note in our hearts that all of us here at Sin HQ have to announce that December’s Sin City will be the last.

To celebrate 7 great years of Sin City, we’ve decided to go out with a bang and pay tribute to the club which inspired us to start Sin, and which many of you will also remember: The Banshee

During the mid-late 80′s and into the early 90′s The Banshee on Oxford Road was a mecca for Manchester’s alternative scene. Playing glam & rock upstairs and goth, punk & industrial downstairs, the Bansh’ was a spiritual home for a great many of us, complete with flooded toilets, subsiding dance floors and plenty of nooks and crannies to lose yourself and your not-so-significant other in…

We’ll be playing the usual array of classic Sin tunes mixed in with a wealth of Banshee anthems. You’d be surprised at how much crossover there is…

We’d love to wave Sin good-bye with all our friends, old and new, so do come down and join us, see some old faces, dance like you’re a teenager again, and party like it’s 1989!

The next Sin City will Friday 5^th December .

This will be the final Sin of the year, so be sure to come down and say hello. You don’t have to bring us a Christmas present, but we’re more likely to play your requests if you do…

We’re currently in discussions with the people from The Retro Bar about dates for 2009, so we’ll let you know as soon as we have anything confirmed.

Sin City now has a new regular date on the first Friday of every month. Which is effectively the night before Sin used to be on…

This means that the next couple of Sin City nights will be:

Friday 7th November
Friday 5th December

When: 9pm – 3am, the first Friday of every month

Where: Sin City @ The Basement Bar, Underneath The Retro Bar, 78 Sackville St, Manchester, M1 3NJ
